Entrecard announces end to paid ads

Entrecard's new management has been in place only a few days, and already we are seeing major changes. Today they announced the end of the paid-ads system, as well as the end of the "credit cash-out" that allowed members to exchange EC's for cash.

I think both of these changes are a necessary first step in getting Entrecard moving back in the right direction. It's a shame that it took such a long time for them to realize that the paid ads were a mistake.

I am still active on Entrecard, though not as regular a dropper as I used to be. I do think there's some benefit to it, in giving wider exposure to new blogs such as this one, and I want to thank those of you who've found my blog as a result of Entrecard.

I'm going to be watching how the new management proceeds before putting my blogs back into EC. This does appear to be a good move on their part.

I'm so happy they end it. What a relief....I no longer have to be sick of seeing that annoying "butt" advert

I'm hopeful. I just haven't had time to drop cards (heck I don't have time to answer my email some days), but once my season's over I'll be doing more during the winter months. I'm hoping that by that point things will have settled down and it will be back to something resembling the old way of doing things. I HATED the paid ads.

I'm pleased to see the new team at Entrecard are taking note of what the users do / don't want and acting upon it. Shame they didn't act sooner, they're already lost 31% of their traffic :-(
