My name is Karen Henry. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am a relative newcomer to the OUTLANDER books, having discovered the series only in November, 2006. I quickly became thoroughly addicted.
In September, 2008, I was delighted to be named a Section Leader in Diana Gabaldon's section of the Compuserve Books and Writers Community. For more information on what that involves, look here.
Those of you who have read AN ECHO IN THE BONE may have noticed that I'm mentioned in the Acknowledgments section in the beginning:
"Karen Henry, Czarina of Traffic, who keeps my folder in the Compuserve Books and Writers Community tidy and the inhabitants diplomatically herded."I was so thrilled to see my name in the book! And that phrase, "Czarina of Traffic", always makes me laugh.
I'm also mentioned in the Acknowledgements to THE SCOTTISH PRISONER, and the character of "Keren-happuch" is named after me. (She does not, however, resemble me at all in terms of personality!)
To my surprise and delight, the e-book edition of Diana Gabaldon's novella, "The Custom of the Army", is dedicated to me! It reads, "This story is for Karen Henry, Aedile Curule, and Chief Bumblebee-Herder." (Both titles refer to my role on Compuserve.)
About This Blog

I also have a Facebook page, here. If you're on Facebook and you like what you see here, send me a friend request mentioning my blog, and I'll be happy to accept it. Or visit the Outlandish Observations page on Facebook.
I'm on Twitter, as well, using the id karenh3a.
Due to the increasing number of spam comments on this blog lately, all comments are now moderated before they are posted. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I really didn't want my blog cluttered with non-OUTLANDER-related comments or spam.
There may be a delay of up to 24 hours before your comments appear on the blog. If you don't see your comment posted right away, please check back in a few hours.
Problems Posting Comments?
If you are having trouble posting comments on my blog, there are a couple of things you can try:
- When it asks you for an id, choose the Anonymous option (as shown in the screenshot below) if none of the other options work for you. (But please remember to sign your name if you want me to know who it's from.)
- If you are on Facebook, you can comment here.
- Use a different browser. Firefox works well for me.
