#WeStandWithSam



As some of you may have heard, OUTLANDER's Sam Heughan spoke out on Twitter yesterday about the "constant bullying, harassment, stalking and false narrative" he has endured since the OUTLANDER TV series premiered six years ago.

Please take the time to read all of Sam's comments below. I think it's really important for the whole OUTLANDER fan community to understand what's been going on, and what an enormous personal toll it's taking on the actors, their friends and family members.






This is just horrible! What is WRONG with these people?!?? I really hate the idea of a bunch of crazed stalkers (they don't deserve the term "fans") making Sam's personal life so miserable, and I worry he may eventually come to feel it's not worth continuing in the role.

It's probably going to be a long hiatus before filming can begin on Season 6. I sincerely hope that Sam manages to find some peace, and a respite from this sort of nonsense.

    #WeStandWithSam Sam, I'm glad you finally said something after 6 years of this BS treatment you have been living with. Just wish you would have let us know sooner.     I could write a book on this topic. Around 3 years ago I discovered Outlander and was hooked! I was so impressed by Sam and Catriona’s acting and chemistry, that I wanted to check to see if they were dating in real life. I fell down a rabbit hole of the dark world of people obsessed with Sam and obsessed with Sam and Cait, these people were wanting, hoping they were a real life couple. I’m guilty of being swept up into this online shipper world , only observing at first. I realized at one point that these people were crazy and that Sam and Cait are in fact, not a real life couple. I started defending them on one of the most notorious tumblrs. I also reported Instagram accounts that bullied his then girlfriend MacKenzie. Then I just walked away, it was a waste of my time and I don’t know how people could waste their time spreading lies about someone. When I read what he wrote, I was so proud of him for finally standing up for himself. I 100% support Sam!

    Sam is one of the kindest most caring people I have come across and a very fine actor. I was appalled to learn he’d been suffering this for SIX years. We the real fans know his worth and the love and respect we have for him far outweighs the nastiness of these vile people

    I am with you Sam and don't care about such stupid people. I just love the show and have read all 5 books!!! The acting of Sam and Cait is outstanding!!!
    I saw you in an old Midsummer Murder episode.
    Keep the faith and stay strong!!! Your true fans of the show understand.

    I'dlike to show my support for Sam, and everything Outlander, but I don't have Twitter or Facebook (for some obvious privacy reasons)! Is there another way I can let him know that there are more people on the 'for' side than the 'idiot, crazy' side!? Email perhaps?

    There are eight books in the Outlander series. Book number nine is almost finished. It might be out at the end of this year or sometime next year.
