How long have you been reading the OUTLANDER books?

It's been really quiet in OUTLANDER fandom lately, so I thought we could use something else to talk about. Here's a question for all of you: How long have you been reading the OUTLANDER books?

It's been 19 1/2 years for me -- I found OUTLANDER in November 2006. My account of how I found OUTLANDER is HERE if you're interested.

    I had a high school aged piano student in 2018 who worked at the local library. She told me about a book she had found called Outlander and she was watching season 1 with her aunt on STARZ. It sounded interesting to me so I started book 1 and was immediately hooked. Read the “big” books over 18 months and subscribed to STARZ. And, as they say, the rest is history!

    Last summer I started watching Outlander and have watched an episode or more every day since. I started reading the series last August and I'm currently on Echo. Outlander show and the books have changed my life. This was just the right time in my life to have found Outlander. I'm forever grateful for Diana.

    Started reading/watching in the winter of 2015. A friend had been encouraging me to try it for several years, but I hesitated to commit to a series when time was at a premium - full time job, lots of outdoor activities. Then that winter, almost no snow, x-c skiing came to a grinding halt so almost all my weekends were free. I took the first book out of the library and it was the edition with the TV tie-in cover. Got the DVDs out of the library as well, and once I had finished the first book, I ordered the rest (through MOBY) from Amazon. I have since purchased all the BluRays, soundtracks, novellas, and I'm currently listening to the new audio recordings by Kristin Atherton (having previously listened to the Davina and Jeff Woodman recordings via CDs from the library). Can you say addicted? Thank you Karen for enhancing the Outlander experience with your commentary and other content.

    I am one of those who saw season 1 of the show and had to pick up the books right then. I read all that were out at that time (2014-15) and then have kept up with each new release and have also re-read individual books multiple times and re-read the whole series in order before Bees came out. I LOVE the books more than the show but am grateful that the show introduced me to the books and Diana!

    In January was looking for something to read while waiting for another book to become available. The synopsis sounded interesting so I downloaded the first book. I was NOT looking for a series but didn't realize I had series checked as OK. I hadn't paid attention to the title but when Claire described herself as an outlander something niggled in the back of my mind. That is when I discovered what I was actually reading. I still have never watched a single episode. I may once I finished the series.

    I read the first two books, took a break to read the book on my waiting, and am currently starting book 9.
