Deleted scene from OUTLANDER Season 8!
Entertainment Weekly has just posted an exclusive look at one of the deleted scenes that will be included in the OUTLANDER Season 8 Blu-ray, coming September 22.
It's a sweet little scene with Claire, Ian, Rachel, and young Totis (aka Swiftest of Lizards), Ian's son by his Mohawk wife, Emily.
The scene is based on two bits from BEES that I've always liked very much:
“You lay your hands on many people, to try to heal them. Some of them die, of course, and some of those, I think, follow you for a short time, but they find their way and leave you. You have a small child sometimes near you, but she is very faint. The only other one I have seen with you more than once is a man. He wears spectacles." He made circles of his thumbs and middle fingers and held them up to his eyes, miming glasses. "And a peculiar hat, with a short brim. I think he must be from your place across the stones, for I have never seen anything like that."That's a reference to Frank, of course. A very startling thought, to put it mildly! How can someone who has never seen Frank Randall describe him so accurately?
I honestly thought I was having a heart attack. There was an immense pressure in my chest, and I couldn't breathe. The Sachem touched my arm, though, and the pressure eased.
"You shouldn't worry," he assured me. "He is a man who loved you; he means you no harm. [....] What is strange," he said as I rose, "is that this man often follows your husband, too."

The second quote is also from the Sachem, speaking to Jenny.
"He is still with you -- your husband. He says to tell you that he walks upon two legs."It's really a shame that this scene was not included in the actual episode. I think they did a great job of adapting it. Having Totis (aka Swiftest of Lizards) and Ian tell the story was an effective way of getting around the absence of the Sachem in the show, while preserving the essence of the book version.
