Diana Gabaldon's future projects

Diana Gabaldon just posted an update on her blog about her future projects, things she intends to work on once the current round of traveling/touring is over and she has a chance to get back to her regular writing routine.

I'm glad to see that the OUTLANDISH COMPANION, Volume 2, and the e-book on how to write sex scenes are at the top of her list!

If you didn't already know this: yes, Diana has confirmed that there WILL be a Book 9!  (Eventually.)  But please note what Diana says in her blog post:
I’ll probably write bits and pieces while I’m doing these necessary chores, but it’s pretty random and nothing like the sustained effort that comes as I move fully into a book.

In other words, you’re not likely to see #DailyLines from Book Nine for awhile.
And also this:
In the meantime, any eager soul who foolishly asks me, “When will Book Nine be out?” will be politely ignored. Or bonked on the head with the copy of MOBY they just asked me to sign, depending…
I'm reasonably sure she's kidding about bonking people on the head, but it must get very tiresome for her to hear that question over and over again, when WRITTEN IN MY OWN HEART'S BLOOD has been out less than four weeks, and she hasn't even really started working on Book 9 in any serious way yet.

Diana Gabaldon is an amazing writer, but she's also a human being.  Please try to be patient!  It will probably be 2018 or later before we see Book 9 in print.

By the way, I created this "Keep Calm" graphic a couple of years ago.  If you're on Pinterest, the pin is here.

Oh lord, I have about a thousand or so un answered questions... like...how did Bree and Roger and the kids get back to Claire and Jamie's time and on the Ridge? Where is Buck? Can that SOB Rob time travel or not? Is the gold still there? If so, they should be as secure as Jocasta was, and speaking of Jocasta?? William, what happens next with him? And it goes on from there....that is what makes looking forward to the next part of the story so good....and, I am sooooo looking forward to that....
