For your enjoyment . . . albeit, I', not sure if this comment is appropriate for Outlander, but I often think of (and listen to) the soundtrack from the 1980 movie, "Somewhere in Time" when reading the Outlander series of books. The movie starred Jane Seymour & Christopher Reeve & was filmed at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. The film really comes to life with the fantastic music by John Barry and follows a time travel theme.
Film description:
"Young writer Richard Collier is met on the opening night of his first play by an old lady who begs him to "Come back to me". Mystified, he tries to find out about her, and learns that she is a famous stage actress from the early 1900s, Elise McKenna. Becoming more and more obsessed with her, he manages, by self hypnosis, to travel back in time where he meets her. They fall in love, a matching that is not appreciated by her manager. Can their love outlast the immense problems caused by their "time" difference? And can Richard remain in a time that is not his?"

Also thought to mention a 1946 song by "The Ink Spots" which suits the Claire Fraser character "The Gypsy" during her efforts with Murtagh to find/rescue Jamie.

Figuring you have relocated this blog, perhaps this is the best place to post this to share with you.

Happy New Year! - a fellow Outlander fan from NY
