New opening title sequence for Season 4!

STARZ has posted the new opening title sequence for OUTLANDER Season 4!

As usual, they've changed the music somewhat, to give it a more Southern/Appalachian sort of feel. It's going to take a little time to get used to the singer's attempt at a Southern accent, but I'm really much more interested in the images.

The cabin looks perfect, very much as I've always imagined it! I laughed when I saw the Highland dancers.  And I like the bath scene. <g>

The shot of the gorgeous North Carolina scenery at the end made me go, "Ooooohhhh!!" and immediately put me in a good mood. Then I looked closer, and what I saw made me like it even more! If you look really closely at the view of Fraser's Ridge at the end, you can make out Jamie and Claire in the center of the shot, looking out over the ridge, Jamie's arm around Claire, and Claire leaning in affectionately toward him. I like that a lot, as a sort of evolution of the famous shot of the two of them riding across the Scottish landscape from Season 1.

I'm interested to hear what the rest of you think of the new opening sequence.

Just beautiful!! It was a little weird hearing the fiddle music playing the Outlander song, but it does make me remember - this is not Scotland anymore. Drums is up near the top for my favorite book, so I am REALLY excited for season four. The whole adaptation is a miracle to me. It’s done better than any book to movie, I feel. And a tv production to explore a book a year is absolutely fantastic. I love your site and thank you for all the super Outlander news you share.

I loved this intro piece. Wish they would splice in a bit more dancing by native Americans and the frontier families and less from the stone circle. But the visuals hints are wonderful. My question is, who died? There was a body being prepared for burial sequences in there.

Not a fan of this rendition. They should have kept the vocals and just added the banjo / fiddle. Most immigrants kept their accents ( as Jamie /Claire will) and that is how the vernacular of Appalachia developed. However, that is jmho, and I will get used to it...it's the content of the series I care about, and as long as they don't deviate far from the books, I'm good 😉

It’s probably one of the slaves. There was a cruel overseer who mortally injures one in a scene in DOA.

Gave me goosebumps!

Loved it, as always. I made this beautiful song my ringtone a few years ago so I can have my little Outlander reminders throughout the day. It was great to see the return of the kilt but I am curious as to why Sophie (Bree) and Richard (Roger) were not listed in the actor credits.

Perfection, as always.

Did you read the book? Not to give too much away, there are several slaves who die throughout the book, so more than likely one of them.

So lovely and when my husband and I visited Scotland last year we marveled how much of it looked like NC so the fact that they filmed NC in Scotland makes sense. The open is always a favorite and if it's a little different that's just fine with me. Counting the days til Droughtlander is over!

Beautiful! Now that truly brings Drums of Autumn to life. Well done Ron D. Moore, cast and crew.

I was hoping to see the name Duncan Lacroix but I did enjoy the opening.

Maybe they aren’t in the first episode.

This is probably the credits for episode 1, evidently they will not be in episode 1

I got goosebumps hearing the chorus sing along. Is that to reflect:
1. Bigger story in a bigger country?
2. To reflect it's not just about Jamie and Claire anymore, it's going to be an ensemble cast from now on.
3. Or was that just all the fans that can't wait singing along??? 😀

To Suzanne Cook and Deanna Burns: Don’t worry, actors’ names are only shown in episodes in which they appear. Sophie, Richard, and Duncan just weren’t in the episode from which this opening sequence was taken.

I missed it. The Video got pulled about 15 minutes before I would watch it. But hey - Nov 4, I will see the whole thing. Helen in Ark

I loved it! I was also curious about what the meaning is behind the chorus singing along. Drums of Autumn is a favorite of mine, actually they are all favorites, just for different reasons! Can't wait for season 4 to see Jaime and Claire establish roots together at last!

I love it. Love that the music has evoled and changed to reflect where they are just like the previous seasons when they were in Paris and the Caribbean. Can’t wait for the new season to start.

Did anyone notice the pearls on the wrist. That was not Claire walking down the stairs. The pearls were given to Brianna.

Quick question...why laugh when you saw the highland dancers?

Is the 12 and 27 on the dancers a sneaky reference to a future expedition?
